Traditional culture of the Ainu, a people who lived a unique lifestyle

This is a museum where you can experience with all five senses the history and culture of the Ainu, an indigenous people who have been cultivated in the midst of nature.

Upopoi means “to sing with many people” in Ainu language.
Visitors can experience Ainu culture through traditional Ainu dances and performances of traditional Ainu musical instruments such as mukkuri (mouth harp) and tonkori (five-stringed zither).
