The Nibutani Ainu Culture Museum is a museum dedicated to learning about Ainu culture, with numerous folk tools and Ainu language audio materials on display.
There are more than 300 exhibits designated as Important Tangible Folk Cultural Properties, including “Ainu - Life of the People”, “Kamui - Romance of the Gods”, “Moshiri - Blessing of the Earth The exhibits are displayed in four zones: “Ainu - Life of the People,” “Kamui - Romance of the Gods,” “Moleu - Lore of the Great Formation,” and “Moleu - Lore of the Great Formation.
The site was once known as an Ainu settlement along with Shiraoi and Chikamun.
Outdoors, there are chise (restored traditional houses), pu (stilted warehouses), hebereset (cub cages), and pit dwellings, all of which exhibit Ainu grain storage.
