Lake Toya is the largest hot spring resort in Hokkaido, with a hot spring resort area lined with hotels, inns, restaurants, and souvenir stores on the southern shore of Lake Toya.
Along the lakeside of the spa town, there is a promenade, a landing place for sightseeing boats, a sculpture park where outdoor sculptures are exhibited, and a free footbath.
The amount of hot spring water is the third largest in Japan. The water is smooth and saline, and the baths are brimming with hot spring water.
Most of the rooms in the ryokan overlook the lake, and the lights of Nakajima, Mt. Yotei, and Mukai-Toya on the other side of the shore at night are a charming sight.
