Traditional distilling method
The distillery is currently the only distillery in the world that uses the traditional "direct coal-fired distillation" method.
It requires skilled craftsmanship, but the distillery's quality comes first, even if it is inefficient, in order to produce a rich, full-bodied flavor and aroma.
In 2002, they became the first malt whiskey distillery in Japan to be accredited by the Scotch Malt Whiskey Society (SMWS).
