Higashi-mokoto Shiba-zakura Park (moss pink)

The entire hill is dyed a vivid pink

From mid-May to early June, when the lawn cherry trees are in full bloom, a vast slope of 100,000 square meters is beautifully decorated as if it were covered with a velvet carpet.

This is a popular spot that attracts many tourists every spring.
The Higashi Motto Shiba-zakura Festival is held during the blooming season.

A small hill dyed in pink

The red, peach, white, and purple blossoms of the shiba-zakura are about 1.5 cm in diameter.
The view from the bottom and the top of the gently sloping hill covered with moss and shiba-zakura are both spectacular.

Shiba Cherry Blossom Highlights

There are many beautiful sights from which to view the lawn cherry blossoms, such as the observatory and the pink torii gate of the Yamatsumi-jinja Shrine, which allows visitors to take a leisurely stroll.

You can also take a ride on a slow-moving truck-type sightseeing car or a go-cart, which takes you around an 820-meter course, and enjoy the view from a different angle.
